!!!! Nose tanks !!!! The FAA asked Skip why they've been having so many
survivable accidents lately with tank rupture and fire, sometimes
fatal. The club will be working on this. We'd like to solve it before
the FAA goes to the AD stage so the solution can be rational.

Things to look for: smell of fuel. If you smell fuel when you first
open your cockpit or any time thereafter, FIND OUT WHY AND FIX IT!!!!
John Sr. has seen more than one incident where a corroded nose tank
failed IN FLIGHT AND DUMPED THE FUEL IN THE PILOT'S LAP! In the
instances John Sr. related, there was no fire and they got down safely.

Discussion also included a loose strap holding some tanks that can let
the tank sag down on top of the control mast in a hard landing.

Let's discuss this here and send any ideas or data also to Skip. This
is urgent to flight safety!
