Tom The C elevator travel is 13 degrees up travel, (Spec A--718)
The D was set at 9 degrees - with the increased gross weight 1400 lbs, the airplane would approach a stall with any more angle of attack, esp. with the 85 hp engine. (Spec A-787)( Same Spec for E,G Forney, Alon, Mooney) So they spec'd the CD, which allowed the 85 HP, but only 1260 lbs.( Spec A-718). The E,F,G, Forney, Alons -"split" elevator travel is 20 degrees up.(Gross Weight 1400, except for F1A - 1450) Mooney , up elevator 25 -29 degrees up travel. Gross weight 1450 I expect there are many C and CD models with 85 hp and flying with 1400 lbs - Doesn't appear to be legal. Fly Safe - Have Fun Harry 93530 BCB
