I've been admiring a pretty little green Mooney Cadet (an Ercoupe by another name) at MMU (New Jersey) for a while.
Today, the owner was out running up the engine. It seems
he's lost his medical, and is ready to sell.
So here's the scoop:
1970 Mooney Cadet
2900 TTAF
250 SMOH C-90
I saw a Val-Com MX11 com radio, Mode C
and Narco Nav 12 (the all-in one VOR head)
The Cadet has the nice feature that the radios
go in the panel!
I'd rate the paint a 7 (bright green Imron, not worn out
but not shiny without wax any more on sun-exposed areas).
Interior also a 7.
He uses a canopy cover, so the class is good.
There are little luxuries like dual toe-brakes and seats
the slide back and forth. This is the late one, with the 'Mooney'
tail; it'll stall, skid, slip, and spin (placarded against the
latter).
He wants $30K (it's in Trade-a-Plane as such).
This gent claims to have put 2000 hours on it himself. I
sat in it, and it felt real nice. Just a cool, cool,
plane.
Though I'm not willing to go that high for an Ercoupe myself
right now, and anywhere near that, I'd probably rather have
a twin-tail Alon, I'll pass it on to the list. At some
lower price, it would be mine by now :-)
I know it seems high, but the *gestalt* of this airplane is
excellent. It hasn't been all butchered up. And, on first
glance, there isn't a 'fix up' list as long as your arm.
The owner is Tom Livesey, at (973) 377-1383
