To All:

Just wanted to thank the list for all the responses that I have
received in my short time that I have been on the list. What a great
source of info!

Also wanted to assure the group that as a newbie, I for one have
not been scared off by posts that point out possible trouble spots for
the Coupe. I have been convinced that it is a great little plane and am
looking forward to many fun-filled hours of flying one. I think that
ALL posts are important, and especially appreciate those that alert me
to any aspects of maintaining/flying an Ercoupe that I may not be aware
of.

I have one more question to ask, one that I should ask the owner of
the plane that I fly (again, he doesn't have a pilot's license). The
mixture control in this plane (with a C85) is inoperative. Was this an
AD, or should I get it looked at? Also, if it is an AD, how are you
shutting down the engine? When I was checked out, the procedure was to
turn off the ignition, and as the prop wound down, the throttle was then
pushed in to full throttle. This sound right? Seems to me it leaves a
slug of fuel in the carb. Just another stupid question!! Hey, I've got
a whole list of them, so stay tuned!! :)

Thanks in advance, group

Regards,
Jeff Orear
