Jack, the max oil temp is listed by continental as 225 degrees F.

I experience 185 -190, here in Virginia. You need to get this high  -
about
200 degrees to boil off the water condensation. If you are experiencing
higher
temperatures, I would check the timing, and mixture -so you arn't too
lean,
and shrouds in the engine compartment. Of course the temperature guage
could
also be off. If the compression is good and equal, I wouldn't expect much
blow
by. If excessive blowby is occuring, the rings may be stuck, or not seated
properly. This would cause high oil temp, also.

Of Course make sure there are no birds nests, rats nests, etc.

Denver just got lots of snow??? must be very pretty out there this time of
the
