Main landing gear spacer question

People have been telling me that my Ercoupe has had a change to the nose gear that raises the nose up higher than original spec. The tail height measures about 5'6" instead of the 6'3" shown on the side view illustration. Have heard about spacers that can be fitted to the main gear. Has anyone else had any experience with this problem? Any info would be appreciated.   Pat Hubbard 1946 Ercoupe 415C
