According to the Type Certificate Data Sheet No. A-787, paragraph III the Forney F-1 has a max weight of 1400 #. In paragraph IV, the F-1A is listed with an authorized max weight of 1450#. I own a F-1A and in the weight and balance data the max weight is listed as 1450#. The Type Certificate Data Sheet is the official word for any certificated aircraft. Incidentally, you can obtain the type data sheet from the FAA at no charge (last time I checked). The number to call is 405-954-6628 or fax 405-954-4104. The Forney is great airplane!

Be sure and specifiy the make and model of aircraft you are requesting the sheet for. ---------- From: Don Mack <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Forney Question Date: Sunday, March 01, 1998 6:47 PM I am looking at a '58 Forney. According to doc I found on the net, the Forney has a GW 200 pounds higher than the original Coupe. Does anyone know is this true and if it is, is it due to higher aircraft weight or did the useful load increase? Any suggested reading for the Forney would be appreciated as well.
