My recent research into exhaust system supports for my M-10 yielded the
following. My thanks to several members on this list for their comments.

What we are talking about here applies to exhaust systems with two
separate
stacks. The key element is to let the stacks move with the engine (no
"hard" supports to anything else). Many people have had success (and it
was
Alon's and Mooney's conclusion) that a loose attachment to the engine
mount
helped stabilize the system, limit dimensional excursions (and looked a
little more logical than just letting the darn things dangle there). So,
on
each stack, a small flexible, reinforced rubber, "strap" about an eighth
of
an inch thick, 7/8 inch by about 2 inches is fastened between two clamps,
attached to the engine mount and stack at a point about eight inches from
the exit end. You can buy the strap if you want to -- re Mike at Univair:
Alon P/N 4040089 "Alon/M-10 STRAP" for about $7 each. We made them from
some hose material. The original Mooney part (P/N 600275-089) is no
longer
available from anyone to my knowledge.
