I think Avemco is the highest.  As far as I can tell, they don't charge
much
higher rates for low time pilots.  They also have many provisions that
will
keep your insurance good when another company will deny a claim based upon
a
technicality, like an expired annual or BFR.  I think Avemco is about 40%
higher than others but you get what you pay for.  NOTE - be sure to join
EAA
because EAA members have first option on their totaled plane as salvage
with
Avemco in the case of an accident, but other Avemco insureds don't.  At
least, that is what they told a fellow here after he had a wreck.  Glen
