No Joe!
It's solid metal, that what I mean by "stock".  These Dilly Jacks work great, but they're essentially old car bumper jacks, so they'll suffer from the same idiosyncrasies as we all remember back in the 60's and 70's!  I'm positive a length of tubing will not hold up.  Weld a big washer onto the end of the round stock making it a pin.  Slide the pin through the female part that's welded (is that what you mean by "tubing"?) onto the jack and the knuckle, and jack away.  Make sure you put something under the spar as close in as you can work around.  We used a wooden bench with a few boat cushions from Wal Mart.  In case the jack slips out from under the plane, this will hold it up.  Good luck
Al

Al, do you really think that heavy wall 4130 steel tubing welded to the jack would not hold it ???
I don't understand your use of the word "stock"- - - - such as;
a supply of something ??
a certificate of ownership ??
the animal that carries the hoof & mouth decease ??
a stock broker  ??
a stock car ??
the stock exchange ??
a stock holder ??
a stock-ing ??
etc  etc  etc  etc
sorry Al, don't mean to be disparaging,  just getting carried away. it's been a long cold lazy day and I'm ready for a nap.
