Paul, I found it- look in the Ercoupe maintenance manual on page 42- it says that "oil cooler found to be necessary only in extremely hot climates was discontinued at Ercoupe Serial No 233...." They later sold it as a kit under service memorandum #20 if you wanted to put it on. Tell your A&P to make sure he has ALL the data necessary when inspecting your airplane.
