I hate to sound smug, but I'm in the great frozen north of
Canada, and on the new owner maintenance program. This means I can do
anything I want to my coupe and don't need anyones approval. I'm sure
this will cause some problems for those who abuse the rules of common
sense, but is awakening the brains of many fellow flyers to solving
problems that were unsolveable before because of the straight jacket of
government regulations. I know it's hard to move the FAA on relaxing
their grip on power, but what is needed,I feel,is a mass uprising of the
great unwashed. Everything has risks, and we should be able to take some
responsibility our selves, without big brother holding our hand. Freedom
to work on,and maintain our planes as we see fit, should be a
fundamental right. After all who gave the sky to the FAA? That,my
friend, is why I can leagally attempt,at least, to solve the great
ercoupe carb ice caper.
