OK.. I must step in-  !!!
The video that everyone is talking about is a 747 landing at Japan
International. Widely considered by pilots as one of the most difficult
airports to land due to the position of mountains and ocean so close to
the
runway.  The video shows one of the jumbos getting blown off center in a
sudden microburst, take a look at the EXCELLENT correction and the
incredible timing in getting the airliner down.  
NO- the 747s wheels do not caster or pivot like a B-52.  Which would be
useless in the gust the jumbo experienced, there would be no time to
displace the wheels in time for touchdown..

Yo, Wayne.  And others.
   The 747 thing was a video clip attached to a post on the Coupers
mailing list.  It showed a 747 doing an S turn to final and planting
it on the runway with a cloud of smoke.  Good piloting, if you
discount the fact that one should be well-established on final by
that time.
