<< I've watched this list for a long time. There is a clear split of
ideologies that go beyond right and left. I call it Heroes and Cowards.

For many years I lived and taught in Riverside, CA. While there I flew out
of
Flabob Airport (RIR) - well known because Chapter One of the EAA was
founded
there and many interesting airplanes have been built there and flown in
the
movies and so on.

More importantly, I had the honor to have as my instrument, commercial and

multi instructor, a retired Colonel from the Air Force, formerly based out
of
March Field. Further many of the retired guys from March also hang out at
Flabob, including the best mechanic I ever met and a bunch of other
military
types. These guy all flew in or were part of several U.S. war efforts,
including combat duty in Vietnam and many years in SAC.

What I have observed about these men, who all spent most of their lives
traveling in the service at great cost to themselves and their families
and
experiencing actual combat duty, is their absolute support of free speach,

the right to critically evaluate what our leaders say and do, and the
right
to dissent.

You would never hear them entering into the kind of discourse as some have
in
this group. For the most part, if they were to take a side it would be
what
has been called here (incorrectly) the "liberal" position.

We all serve our country in many ways. We need the folks working and
producing goods and services just as much as we need those in the armed
forces, which could not exist without a firm financial infrastructure. We

also need critical thinking, because nobidy has ultimate and complete
knowledge.

And now, we are all are or about to be on the battlefield, as well,
whether
we like it or not. I, for one, welcome all comments, they are only
positive
or negative according whether those thoughts agree with yours and whatever

your position is. However,I do know this; those who have been seriously
physically victimized or attacked, become much less verbally aggressive
and
more thoughtful about war and fighting. We all do what have to, if we
have
to. The rest is all a lot of posturing.

With all best regards,
Bob Figlio
