Well, the coupe has brakes- finally. and they are symmetrical. I put in the new master cylinder, and then just today put in some surplus Goodyear brake discs p/n 9531714. They are 1/4 inch thick, as opposed to stock Ercoupe discs which are only 1/8 thick. Guess what- Univair says you cant get the old Goodyear Ercoupe brake discs anymore. Fresno airparts sells these discs for 27.95 each. They install right into the Ercoupe wheel and brake assembly, you just have to use a thin puck on one side. Works great, and they will never (metaphorically speaking) wear out. oh yes, I will have a 337 field approval for those too- the local fed here seems to like me- he's in a carte blanche mood I guess. Now I just need to get my sliding windows to cooperate. They keep getting hung up on something down below. Looks like I'll be working upside down some more. I did some more high-speed taxiing again today- popped it off the ground a couple of times. It feels pretty straight, no surprises- but should there be? it's an Ercoupe after all!
