Well Fellers::
Here is what I have always done with the "prop Position" thingy.

with #1 cylinder about to go bang, position the #1 blade of the prop at 7
o'clock, and torque to 3/8
inch specs, and safety wire, stick on the spinner and go fly.

The job is considerably easier with the engine stopped.
