Well I just got off the phone with Lee at
Skyport... a very nice guy to talk Ercoupes with
I will receive tomorrow my extended Baggage
compartment $275 includes shipping. I have no problem paying a
reasonable
amount for the STC and the parts, and I am lucky to
have a A&P and AI that like to buck the "system" a bit.
But that said I will NOT bend over and take it,
just because someone thinks they have a monopoly!
There are other LEGAL ways to keep our aircraft
LEGAL and SAFE.
I do not even own a Alon, and should not of put in
my .02 worth, but I had this same kind of problem in locating a replacement tail
cone for my 1969 AA-1 Yankee... after being quoted well over $400 for a used
replacement... I now have a brand new carbon fiber tail cone all signed off and
legal and it cost me $40 in the stuff to make it..... go figure....
I am also one that does not take no for an answer
very well.
