List,

It was "high noon" in the dusty streets of Rio Linda, when out of the western sky
a flash of light announced the arrival of the dreaded Alon. Lunch was the first
order of business, for no man should die with an empty stomach.

Appetites satisfied, the rules committee established the boundaries. Gone in a
instant my home field advantage, "no landing on the grass"! Curses foiled again.
Our hero agrees to the terms, "to late to back out now".

A huge crowd of spectators gather in eager anticipation of the coming event.
A hush fell over the crowd, as the pilots mounted their trusty steeds. And since
I tell stories better with song, the following are the events as I recall them, to
be sung with the theme music from "Gilligans Island".

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale
A tale of a difficult test
That started at Q ninety four
With me and all the rest

A coupe sets down with a gentle touch
And a tiny squeak of brakes
We'll land it shorter than the Alon guy
No matter what it takes

...no matter what it takes

Old Ted was the first to try his hand
With daring, guile and skill
His smoking tires and swerving plane
Sure gave the crowd a thrill

Up next was Dave in his Alon bird
with a slip beyond compare
He stopped it short, can't argue that
A performance that is rare

...performance that is rare

And next was our handsome hero lad
with a smile upon his face
A landing that amazed the crowd
But only worth third place

The sun set low on a quite town
The people all turned in
Cold beers uncorked, sad stories told
The Alon, he did win

...Alon, he did win
