Dan,
I believe my manual says "no more than 1 1/2 PSI" for testing the
tank. This is using the immesion technique and checking for bubbles. On
the
"Van's RV builders tips" they recommend putting a balloon on the outlet
line
to act as a buffer or regulator. In case of too high of pressure it will
blow
the balloon off.
