I have considered putting a variometer in my plane if I have to replace
the
VSI. Sailplanes use a variometer because they are very sensitive to
vertical speed and give you a quick reading will little or no delay. But,
there must be some reason why conventional aircraft don't usually have
them.
Does anyone have any thoughts on why a variometer wouldn't be a good
replacement item for a standard VSI (other than the cost)?
