I went to replace a side window a couple years ago ( lost it mid-flight
in about -12 f./ wind chill) After seeing the prices for replacement, I
called a local plastics welding business and found I could purchase a
4ft.x8ft. sheet of lexan through them for what just a replacement side
window would cost. Using a straight edge and lino knife, and heavy
scissors, I found it quite easy to work with! Course..... I also had to
replace the alum. bracket at top of window, because it went with the
largest piece of old plexi.,when it broke. Would you believe the wife
didn't want to put on snow-shoes and go look for that bracket......even
though I marked the swamp on the G.P.S. right away!!! Go figure!!
Anyway.... now I still have enough lexan to replace the rest of glass
for whole plane. I chose lexan because of our cold conditions. Bob
