Warren; John did not know the reason, he only stated that Alons have a 
history of the engine quitting. The only engine failure he has had in 25 
years was an Alon engine, just after take off, and they could find nothing

wrong. Ed Smith is in the Tampa hospital after the engine quit just after 
take off in his Alon two weeks ago. Another Alon owner at Sun & Fun
indicated 
that he had his Alon engine lose power on take off. When he got it to the 
hanger, they could not get any fuel to run out of the gascolator, but
could 
find no cause of the problem. I did not see Jack's comments, but I think
this 
is what he is referring to.
