Years ago, I had to get a certificate of demonstrated ability for defective color vision. All that was required was to physically demonstrate to the inspector that I could see green and white lights, and tell the difference between the two. This was done at the Salt Lake International Airport, with the light gun in the tower, and us in the parking lot. Once I proved I could do it, I was issued a permanent CEDA. It should be just that easy for you, once you convince the inspector to get in the cockpit with you. Ooh! That could be a problem.
