Having dug around my static system for a while this morning, I'm realizing that, aside from looking ugly, my 50-year-old altimeter is probably leaking around its case seals.
Result, of course, is that with the canopy open the altimeter, VSI, and airspeed all do their happy dance. Rather than send it out for a rebuild, I'm thinking replacement. Anybody have a favorite shop to buy either new or refurb altimeters? (Where refurb is desirable.)
