Tried the $7 impedance converter method suggested by David to boost the audio from a portable cd player. It didn't work... O-well, at least I'm only out $7 and I learned a little about electronics. For others who may want to try this, I have a Sigtronics intercom. So fare this method hasn't worked on Flightcom and Sigtronics portable intercoms. Hank, I also did not use the green wire...
After trying this, later that same day, I packaged the intercom up and sent it away to sigtronics to have the audio amplified. Once I get the intercom back, I'll let everyone know if it was worth the $35 to have it done. Note: if your Sigtronics SPO-22 intercom is serial number S/N 2318298 or newer it is already amplified and you should not experience this problem.. Spent Sunday at the Fort Worth TX NAS enjoying a free airshow including the Blue Angles. Love my coupe but, would give my left --- for a ride in one of those blue Hornets.
