I've still got 5 months to go before my next annual, but I'm trying to get all my ducks lined up before I start it. I've a problem in that the second, in a series of three, of my engine and airframe logbooks is missing. Can't come up with them anywhere. I contacted my mechanic, and he suggested I contact the FAA for a copy of all records pertaining to my Coupe. I finally got the right phone number, and requested such. Three days later, I received an envelope containing three micro fish. I didn't actually count them, but there must be more than 50 pages of records pertaining to 93405. I've got the wife taking them to the library and make them into actual copies of these records. I suspect they could enlighten me as to all of the "approved" repairs and alterations made on her. I also suspect they could satisfy any AI as to the work done but not recorded in the remaining two sets of logs. The cost of this? Two dollars for the search, and fifteen cents each for the micro's. Total $2.45. I guess the FAA is good for something after all. And, it's going to be interesting to see what that pile of records is going to reveal.
