When I bought my Forney, someone had just installed a new ELT. It is made
by ACK, the same people who make the blind alt. encoder. The thing I like
about it is that it uses 8 "D" cell copper top batteries (no other brand
is
authorized) and the "use before" date on the batteries, typically 3 years,
is the drop dead replacement date. It has a little remote control panel
for
mounting on the instrument panel and is as cheap as just about any at $208
in the Spruce catalog.
