Coupers; We finally headed out of Springfield, MO about 0640 this AM
against 30 mph headwind. Fortunately I had planned on the winds, because
the
first fuel stop must have forgot to tell the operator to show up. I
quickly
picked another not far away, and when we got there the runway was closed
for
construction. Fortunately the third one was a charm. We had to make an
additional stop because of the head winds. But we finally arrived at the
Kelch's, in Mequon, WI at 1340 PM after 6 hours of flying. Needless to
say,
our overall ground speed decreased somewhat today. Al and Lois got home
about
an hour later, and we got to look at some of the great "stuff" that they
have
collected. Joel says we spent the whole day flying and he was sad to leave

the Doyle's great hospitality. I think he also missed playing the Nintendo

64, but we certainly do greatly appreciate their kindness.
I added the first quart of oil today to the Coupe after changing the oil
and
filter in Ramona approximately 32 hours ago. I guess all the running at
2650
to 2700 RPM at high altitudes has really seated those rings.
Only three more days until the convention, so I suppose many of you are
about
to get on the road towards College Park. Hope to see you there.
