Jan, ERCO did not prime anything. Zinc tell us that the wings have been apart before. So you lucky and that save you hours of work. Don't thing Forney zinced, Alon did the same just the Spars and caps. Your question of
wondering why has been ask before don't thing we will ever know. A little
primer would have saved us all a lot of the problem we are having. But the
Coupe was not to have lasted this long.
Engine baffling, I would like to see an STC for a baffling more like
the
piper 140's where it comes up from the rocker box covers. That being said
I
use Univair parts that go around them the rocker boxes then make any other
parts needed. For the cylinders I get 3 inch Stainless shim stock . 015 it
come in a roll. Your old one can be used for parts or you can get new
steel
tube from Aircraft Spruce. A few 3-3 rivets and you have better than new.
Around the fuel pump and the hook for the pump bolt is not to bad. Other
than
that it is pretty easy. Don't do like a friend and take 3 months trying
for
the perfect fit. I thing the hole thing took the best part of a day. That
was
with installing the rubber sealing. But not around the air filter and oil
sump inlet.
