You are one of the luckiest people alive.

I knew a guy that had a similar experience, but the other pilot was a 
student.  They were "practicing" engine out procedures and snap rolled a 
Dutchess at about 20 feet.  The plane slid to a stop; there was no sudden 
stopage.  The student lived, the instructor, who was not wearing his
shoulder 
harness, was killed.  There was no visible trauma to his head, but the
cause 
of death was contact with the panel.
