----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Hello to all, I'd like to stick in my 2 cents too Ihad an incident a couple years ago too I monitored the ctaf 22.7 of the airport I was to land at I called in my intentions another acrft radioed in his intentions too .I was too the west he to the east and it felt as if we would meet due to his type acft - he was way faster than I so I quickly radioed him and asked where he was again he refused to answer as if I didn't exist Icalled him 2 more times he didn't answer .Isaw him and took evasive action to avoid a midair. this mother#$%^&^ was gunna be toast when I got down saw I called out what I was doing so that any other acft would know and finally I landed That plane was at the pumps, I approached, I was so pissed -the pilot was still in the plane I asked him if he heard me call him he said HUH? I said that I had called him several times and did he hear me ?he said I dunn know ask my instructer. This was a student in the plane (a pilot doing an IFR refresher) so he really wasn't a student I found the instructer I calmly asked him if he heard me radio him- his reply was I heard you the first time and you heard me the first time he refused to reply after that .WHAT a % ^$*head he then started making all kinds of odd remarks and my comment to this wierd guy was I'm glad I'm not your student it's clear you have a death wish and safety is of no concern to you. right about then he was ready to take a swing at me when someone in the FBO intervined. He left in a huff . I haven't seen him since or read about him in the OBITS What a schmuck !! I would say that I consider safety first andwould never subject anyone to a close call if it could be avoided easily. I turn on my landing lites every time I land I do the broadcasts at un controlled properly I don't want to be a statistic. The world is full of $%^offs occassionally we cross paths.
