----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Hello All:
I'd thought I'd pass this on. In the process of inspecting the stuff from 09H, I discovered the interior of the ailerons were corroded. I was prompted to check when I discovered a broken rivet. The corrosion is very hard to see, probably impossible when the aileron is on the plane since you have to look in the opening in the butt end of the aileron and need a light inside the aileron itself. I pass this on since it was not discovered on the annuals. The aileron linkage would have to be disconnected to gain access to see inside and the interior has to be illuminated. I stripped the paint from the exterior of one and was pleasantly surprised to find the exterior in fine shape. I'll open it up and know more. I think by opening it up and drilling any corroded rivets and cleaning everything up the ailerons can be saved. I'm only going to do one at a time. That way if it goes back together all warped out of shape I won't waste time with the other. <G> Cheers: Paul N2273H __________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from this list please send mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ___________________________________________________________ T O P I C A The Email You Want. http://www.topica.com/t/16 Newsletters, Tips and Discussions on Your Favorite Topics
