I know of several that are flying and as far as I (and the AIs know) they are perfectly legal. The owners love them. They are essentially a constant speed prop. Blade condition and cost to repair are the most important factors. I'd be sure to have it gone over thoroughly if it's been hanging on a wall for 50 years.
