I don't know for sure, but I know that many planes from the same era have
the 
same situation:  A "35" size battery box and a "25" size in the TC.  My
guess 
is that old batteries used to be lower capacity for their size.  If you go

with the smaller battery, make sure the box adequately restrains it.  I
know 
both Beech and Cessna have FAA PMA approved wooden blocks for sale....  
Easiest way is to get the lightest 35 you can find.
