----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Dennis,
I think my EGT was an excellent investment and works very well on my 415-D with a Stromburg carb. For more info, see the EOC public page FAQ and search [cntl-F] for "egt" (you'll find it twice) and I'd suggest you read both mixture control sections. http://communities.msn.com/ErcoupeOwnersClubPublic&naventryid=112 I got the single probe EGT. If I had possessed more money back then I would have been smart to get the 4 probe egt. Be sure you disassemble and clean the mixture control on Stromburg carbs including the tubes through the carb body through which the air is sucked (pushed? whatever). Expect the mixture changes to be somewhat slow on a Stromburg carb but they will be accurate and effective in my experience.
