That's so great! Not that you bonked your head but the way you wrote about
it.  

Personally, I prefer to receive lessons through laughter and joy, not
through pain and suffering, but we don't always have a choice, do we?

The A&P of our flying club was telling me a similar story about a tall
pilot who refused to wear his seat belt and harness after take off.  He
encountered a good bump and his head cracked the plexiglass in the
skylight (is that what you call it in a 172?  it's not a canopy
obviously). The pilot was OK and learned a good lesson.  I'm not sure who 
paid for the plane.  I think the club's insurance did.

Not that I wasn't convinced before that I should buckle up, but thanks
guys for doing the research for me and reinforcing my conviction!
