I have found the center stiffener installed on the outside of the aileron at the center hinge to be pretty nasty. The steel is still sound after being cleaned up. I had considered shooting it with cold galvanizing compound before reinstallation. Does anyone know if the 2 part epoxy primer will lift or react with this? If it does, I'll scout up and bend a piece of stainless I guess. A few more hours and I'll put this aileron together, cover the wings and be ready for the next step in my long term restoration. Next year I'll probably strip the rest of the plane when the annual is up in November 01.
