Georgia, Actually, whether they know it or not, ALL pilots are student pilots. It's just that some of them have already been certified. Certified what exactly still remains to be seen. :-) I'm kinda with you. While I do enjoy swimming, I never could understand going 'round and 'round in circles on the water. Going 'round and 'round in a steep bank, 3000ft above the ground is much more fun. (I'm gooooood at steep turns.) 'specially when you feel that bobble after the full turn, telling you you did it just right. Oh, and you want to talk about maniac drivers? I live in the Lake Geneva (Wisc) area. This is Chicago's play ground. I have to put up with them. (If any of you coupers out there are Chicago residents, no offense intended.) You should be around here come 4th of July. Best wishes to you also. How far along are you? Mike -----Original Message----- Dear Mike, I worry too, but not anything like I do driving on the freeway with the maniacs. With the usual wind direction of my airport, Murray Field, we are taking off over the bay. One of the things that bothers me most about that is that if the engine quit on take-off, I'd have to do an emergency landing in the bay. Best of luck to you with your lessons.
