I wouldn't go selling that coupe just yet. I've never really seen a homebuilt, except maybe an RV, that is up to a 50 year old Ercoupe. They just look better in one's mind and on paper when they're selling you a kit/plans. Also I doubt that a 4 place homebuilt of any real quality or practicality could be properly maintained in the real world for less than a coupe. And I'm 100% convinced that flying your family around in your plane on trips to the in-laws is a good way to end your family tree unless you are rich and have an unlimited amount of free time to wait on the weather, breakdowns, gas hassles, etc! You'll end up pushing your limits sooner or later trying to get you and the contraption home. Remember little planes don't share in the airlines' safety glory, according to the AOPA's own numbers.
