Hi Folks, The weather has been unusally kind to us the last two days in coastal northern CA. (Sorry Greg!) I was fortunate to be able to go flying yesterday and today with our flying club's mechanic, Jim. I didn't actually get to do any of the flying but that's OK. I am so happy to be in the air on days like yesterday and today. We went touring/airport hopping. Yesterday we went south and then east. Today we went north along the coast. I wish that I could take you all with me! Maybe I can verbally with a longer message later. I live in such a beautiful place and from the air it is specatacular with its connifer covered mountains, scenic rivers, the Pacific, and the the east, the higher, snow covered moutains. Even though I'm a passenger, I use it as an opportunity to learn and also I do as much for Jim as I can. I'm embarassed to say I hadn't done much with our sectional, the plotter, and the E-6B since I was in ground school because when I go for lessons, so far we've stayed in the local area. But I've been using them a lot in the last 2 days. I think it's good experience for me and it is one less thing that Jim has to deal with. Besides it's fun. I like playing navigator. We have several small airports that are tucked inbetween ridges, down next to rivers. We visited a few of those and I learned a bunch from watching Jim get in and out of those places. Wow. Brings to reality those canyon turns discussions you've been having. My bank accounts and financial assests say otherwise, but I don't care because when I'm in the air, I know that I am one of the wealthiest, most fortunate people in the world!
