Leslie: When we rebuilt N99387 last winter, I replaced the old AN style gyros with overhauled, new style, instruments. They work and look great. I would
ensure that there is a central vacuum filter to ensure long life of the gyros. I got ours from Aircraft Quality Instruments in Wichita, KS. The price has gone up $10, but they still advertise outright purchase for $310 each. I specified the shortest gyro they could provide, RC Allen, and ended up with about 3/4 " to spare between the air fittings on the back of the attitude gyro and the header tank in our 415-D. We installed an O-200, so we have plenty of vacuum. IF you are interested, Aircraft Quality Instruments advertises in Trade A Plane, and their 800 number is 800 942 9938. Good Luck!
