Hi All, Was reading all the comments about ramp checksand the like. Last Memorial day weekend I took a nice flight over a local lake in upstate New York. This was on a Sunday. On Tuesday I recieved a letter From the local FSDO. It sited that I was flying recklessly and low over this lake. I contacted a Lawyer friend of mine and he answered the letter by putting all the burden of proof on the FSDO, as to who the pilot was. About a month later I recieved a second letter stateing that they could not find any reason to take legal action but were going to put a letter in my file documenting the incident. This letter is supposed to stay in my file for 2 years. What amazed me in this situation is the fact that I did not have much to say about any of this. But I guess the moral of the story is not to volenteer anything. Let them produce the proof. In alot of the cases they won't because they can't or do not have the resources to do so.
