Skyport lists the brake clip at $86.54. When rebuilding the Goodyear brakes back in '88, we got 4 pucks and they were approx. 1/2" (.496) and 2 would not fit along with a brand new disc, and allow the wheel to turn. So we put in 1 new and 1 old puck and it has worked fine since. Therefore I still have 2 new ones left for another rebuild. I had purchased the new (old stock) discs from a fellow in Kansas (name long
since forgotten), but since then a local aviator, that earlier had a coupe, had used Goodyear discs from a 172 surfaced planned to the proper Ercoupe thickness, and that worked for him. I have 4 old clips that Skyport lists for $15 used, when available--but am forced to keep them in case of need on my classic. There isn't much to these clips. There can't be much more than 18 cents worth of metal in them. Too bad we cant find someone to stamp out a couple thousand and drive the price down!!! Earl 93826
