Hi group,

I have a couple of questions concerning the Goodyear brakes on Ercoupes.

I know the parts are expensive and difficult to find, but I would like to
keep mine original, if possible.

In reviewing Goodyear brake pucks, I find there are some apparrent
discrepencies in the literature.

The Ercoupe Service manual, page 37, calls for a new puck to be .460
inches
in length. (I have penciled in part # Goodyear 95-11276 - as these were
the
part #'s listed in literature, and the part # on pucks I purchased years
ago.)

The replacement pucks listed by Skyport (Pts Cat Pg 20)and Univair (Pts
Cat
Page 255) are part # 95-11276, which I have several new ones on hand. I
measured them at .490 inches; not .460 inches as called for in the Ercoupe

Service Manual.

I also have a couple of pucks # 95-11261 ( fits a Cessna 140 +, (according
to
Univair Parts Manual - page 255).... these measure .460 inches! ( as
called
for in the Ercoupe Service Manual for Ercoupe 415 ----page 37)

Now the question is--- which is the correct part number *???? and if the
longer puck (11276) is correct, when was it re-specified - or was it
specified - to repalce the shorter one (11261) ??

I wonder if the numbers presented are correct or a mistake....Also are the

listed prices correct?

Also, the brake clips --anti-rattle clips - are priced at 85.00+ or so !
How
could this be ?

Earlier clips ( 95-20403 is $3.03, ea; #95-11103 is $ 8.49 ea.,) are
listed
at $8.50 or so...... is this pricing a mistake? (Univair price list
-price
code 680, page 55, May, 95 list)

It seem a shame for the pricing to be so out of line, that many Ercoupe
owners are converting to Cleveland brakes at about $1000 parts &
labor....and
abandoning the Goodyear system.

If Goodyear no longer supplies parts, then maybe this is the only option.;

but what a shame that someone doesn't make the pucks and clips at a
reasonable cost.

Appreciate your thoughts and comments......and maybe solutions that make
better sense...
