Oh Well: 
  I have taken all your ideas and suggestions and gone over them with
several mechanics with the following results. 
  I tried flying at high power with aggressive leaning, which caused no
change. 
  I tried "staking" the valve which had the same result. I even tried
calling it by name! Still 80 over 40 on that cylinder. 
  The consensus of opinion is "pull the cylinder". Again any and all
ideas and suggestions are welcome.
