Hi M.J. to get your spacers installed it is not necessary to reference to
anytging except the 337. The hitch is that it must be a 337 that has
already
been approved by the FAA. The IA can opt to ok it or not. Those who won't
approve it dont know anything about coupes.

When I got the first 377 for the spacers back in 1990, it was approved by
the
FAA and is on file in Milwaukee. This is the 337 that can be downloaded
right
here on the net. I e mailed it to the net some time ago. I still send out
many copies for an SASE. Instructions included....

Another note , I spoke to the FAA inspector that approved the first 337
and
he advised me to apply for an STC, Then no one would have a problem
getting
them installed. When he looked over the drawing on the back, being a
previous ercoupe restorer, noted that I really wasn't changing anything to
the airframe, but was merely putting it back into design specifications,
as
Fred Wieck had intended. He also said that there would be no problem
getting the STC. all of the work has already been done.

There still seems to be many questions concerning spacers and with the STC
I
will try to answer them. especially the question of what models are
covered
by the 337.

I know it sounds complicated but I work With the FAA here in Ill. and I
get
the straight dope from them.

Cheers
