Thanks coupers for your input on my questions about the instrument panel being tipped back on top and the window welt & extra aluminum strip. FYI this is what I have determined about N99387: Someone had trimmed about an inch off the glare shield in the middle and tapered it back to nothing in order to keep the outside holes close to the original. Now I know why there were no screws in those outside holes when a took the panel out. I have added a 1 1/2 inch strip from longeron to longeron across the top of the instrument panel in order to place it back in the perpendicular position relative to the side rails. Someone in the past also trimmed about 3/8 inch off the Frame D window welt channel. That is why there was an extra aluminum strip fastened to the outside edge of the window channel. I am replacing the channel to remove the problem. FYI the vinyl and felt portions of the window welts only go about 6 inches below the side rails. The webbing that those items are sewn to goes all the way to the bottom of the channel. I had Lee at Skyport check the drawing! When you order new welts, they do not come with any metal pieces fastened to them for the window stop screws to push against. So make sure when you go to change your window welts that you save the little aluminum pieces fastened to the inside of the Frame C welt in order to glue them to the new welts.
