I know that EOC needs to save money any way they can and they also need to make money when it works for them. I currently subscribe to a large aircraft "For Sale" service that started by faxing the monthly document to all who could pay the $ 380 annual price. This company soon learned that they could send it via email and the user (me) would receive a good quality document printed on his own printer instead of thermal fax paper and I have an electronic copy for future reference that I can print again if I need to. The product is sent in Adobe Acrobat format. I believe that this program is available free for the time to download it. I am sure that many of the EOC members will still wish to receive their copy by USPS mail just like they do now and that is as it should be, but for many of us who have learned to use email it works very well to receive an electronic copy. It comes faster, dose not arrive wet (I live in Oregon when in the USA) and it does not get lost. The big savings is in paper and postage. There is no addressing to be done to each newsletter and the user can choose which method of delivery works best for them. The biggest plus of this is that the EOC then has that months issue in an electric format that can be added to a CD which can be sold. The Beech group ABS has a CD that they sell which includes all back issues and other great Beech data. They do new CD's every year or so and send existing customers a new one for a lower price. I know it would be a big job to get all of the old Coupe Capers scaned or made electronic in some way but it would be a great value to all of us to have available all of the great information previously published. Most owner would want one even if they did not have time for the club. New people with an interest in Ercoupes could get one and have a wealth of information available so that they could spare themselves asking simple questions as the information would be available. Those who do ask questions can be referred to specific information on the CD when the subject gets a little long winded for this forum. Give it some thought and see how we might improve on the above. Best regards, Vern
