Hello, I am experiencing a strange issue with Thunderbird(1.5) and courier-imap(4.1.0), and I want to verify that it is not a problem with how I have courier setup. I have imapd configured so that it enforces STARTTLS on port 143, but when I connect to it with thunderbird I all I get is the "You cannot log in to <my imap server> because the server has disabled login" error message before I am even prompted for a username/password. All other mail clients(mutt, eudora, imapproxy) that I have tried that support STARTTLS work without any problems.
It almost seems like this is a bug in how thunderbird is doing STARTTLS. It seems that it is seeing the LOGINDISABLED option and erroring out before it even tries STARTTLS. There are no errors in any of my logs and it seems to work up to the point where the SSL negotiation would take place when I do it by hand. Does anyone know anything else I could try(debug methods, a way to simulate a STARTTLS IMAP session by hand, other mail clients that I could try) to make sure this is not a problem on my end.
