now /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock is a symbolic link to /tmp/mysql.sock will that cause problems?

I went ahead and reisntalled using the instructions on that page. It installs fine, authlib and courier are both running. I can connect to 143 but it always says login failed. Using vpopmail I can authenticate with those same users pop3.

This is giving me some differnt results if I strace authlib though, at least it is hitting the vpopmail.sql
I'm guessing these are my problems..
